CT Filings is a private filing service, not a government agency. This is not a bill.

Questions, answered plainly

Is this the State of Connecticut? Is this a bill?

No, and no. CT Filings is a private filing service operated by MI TAX LLC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Connecticut Secretary of the State or any government agency. This is not a bill. You can file your annual report yourself at business.ct.gov and pay only the State's fee.

The State’s own site is business.ct.gov. We are a private service that prepares and files the report for you, the way an accountant’s office would. You owe us nothing unless you place an order.

Why did I get an email from you?

The Connecticut Secretary of the State publishes its business registry as open data, including each business’s annual-report due date and the email on file. We wrote because the public record shows your business’s report is due or past due. If it isn’t your business, or you’d rather we stop, every email has a one-click unsubscribe and you can set your preferences here.

What does it cost?

The State’s filing fee plus $49 per report ($99 for a corporation formed outside Connecticut, whose State fee is $435). An LLC’s State fee is $80, so one year is $129. A corporation’s State fee is $150, so one year is $199. If a business is behind by two years, that is two reports, each with its own State fee. Every line is shown before you pay, and your card statement shows CT FILINGS.

Can I just file it myself?

Yes. Go to business.ct.gov/file-annual-report, create an account, search your business, confirm each section and pay the State fee by card. Our service is for owners who would rather have it done and confirmed for them.

How does the filing actually happen?

You confirm the record and name the member, manager or officer who authorizes the filing. Once paid, a member of our team opens the State’s portal, files the report with your confirmed information, signs it on behalf of that principal as your authorized filing service, and pays the State fee. We email you the State’s confirmation number, and the State emails its own acknowledgement to the business email on the report. Usually the same business day.

What if the State’s record is already current?

We check the live State record again before filing. If the report turns out to be on file already, we do not file and we refund you in full. The public data is refreshed daily, so this is rare, but it happens when someone filed yesterday.

What happens if I don’t file?

The State sends a Notice of Intent to Dissolve, and then administratively dissolves the LLC or corporation. Reinstating later costs $120 plus every missed report, and in the meantime the business is not in good standing, which banks, lenders, landlords and buyers check.

Who is behind CT Filings?

CT Filings is operated by MI TAX LLC, an accounting and tax office at 320 Post Ave, Suite 108, Westbury, NY 11590, led by Mark Idrees, EA. We run the same service for New York businesses as NY Tax Center. Call (516) 500-5000 or email support@ctfilings.com.

Refunds

If we cannot file your report for any reason, you get a full refund. Once the State has accepted the filing, the State fee is non-refundable (the State keeps it) and the service has been delivered. See the Terms of Service.
